Conference: Sharing for Equality and Diversity
Held on 6th October, 2011
at the City of Glasgow College

Scottish public authorities are not currently subject to specific duties under the Equality Act 2010. This event provided an update, on the current position of these duties, to education providers for post compulsory education in Scotland.

This interactive, semi-formal event also provided participants with the opportunity to listen to and to share practice in implementing Equality and Diversity in the non-statutory education sector.

The programme was specially tailored for equality and diversity managers and practitioners, human resources, student services, quality managers, professional learning managers and those with strategic responsibility for curriculum, learning and teaching.

Participants were provided with information on the current situation in relation to the Scottish Government and the Specific Duties under the Equality Act 2010. They had the opportunity to hear and share experiences in ensuring equality and diversity in post-sixteen education. This was an ideal opportunity to learn from hands-on practitioners and to take away ideas and resources which are relevant and practical.
